Salesforce – Sales Engineer

(Location: Canada- Remote)

This position for employment will be based out of Shift’s Toronto office at 404/Steeles with general office hours from 9:30am-5:30pm, with some remote flexibility and travel required.  Candidates outside of the Toronto/GTA area will be considered and will need to be comfortable working remotely.

As a Sales Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative team, working as a key member to drive the successful estimation and hand off of Client Projects to our Delivery Team.

In this role you will: 

  • Play an important role in the sales process; speak to both technical and non-technical individuals in an effective manner to position value
  • Responsible for driving technical requirements by supporting discovery during the sales cycle
  • Develop, present and deliver high impact demonstrations of Shift’s IP and Salesforce solutions
  • Respond to prospects’ questions and objections on technical issues
  • Deliver a unified vision of the market value of the SFDC platform and Shift’s service capabilities as it aligns to customer business drivers, including timeline and budget with a focus on overall success
  • Translate and explain highly complex technical information to technical and non technical client Stakeholders, including “C” level executives
  • Support the Shift Account Executive in the creation of Proposals and SOWs
  • Work alongside the Sales Engineer (SE) Lead and Practice Director, to produce Time and Materials-based project estimates
  • Support the Shift Account Executive to maintain lead/ account/ opportunity updates within SFDC to manage and prioritize sales opportunities
  • Manage changes and configure demo environments, supporting the sales team as required to facilitate demonstrations to prospects

In order to qualify you must have the following essential qualities and experiences:

  • Strong business acumen combined with a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and a broad understanding of related technologies, and solutions  
  • Proven experience configuring and customizing the Salesforce platform (Candidates may be asked to perform a short demonstration of Salesforce Sales Cloud)
  • Salesforce.com Admin and Salesforce.com App Builder Certifications at a minimum, ideally Sales/Service Cloud Consultant Certifications  
  • Degree/certificate in Computer Science or another technical field would be an asset  
  • Effective communicator both internally and externally with IT and VP/C-level executives
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a constantly changing work environment with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • A self-starter, demonstrating self-confidence, enthusiasm, and the ambition to succeed within a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficiency in the use of Internet/Web-based applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs Suite.) 
  • Required certifications include Certified Salesforce.com Administrator (ADM201), Certified Salesforce.com App Builder 
  • Additional preferred certifications include Certified Salesforce.com Sales Cloud Consultant, Salesforce Certified Pardot Specialist, Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist, Salesforce Certified Einstein Analytics and Discovery Consultant, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist,Marketing Cloud Administrator, Salesforce Certified Community Cloud Consultant and Scrum Master certification

It would be an added bonus if you also had the following:

  • Experience with Project Management methodologies
  • Experience with other CRM applications
  • Experience with third party applications commonly integrated with Salesforce (e.g. Docusign, Conga Composer, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
